Kelsi is a freelance sound designer and associate based in New York. Originally from Las Vegas, Nevada, Kelsi began working in theatre nearly 15 years ago. Though her focus has been design and assistant work, she also loves working backstage as the deck audio engineer.
Kelsi has participated in the renowned Williamstown Theatre Festival (2012 & 2013), and Alpine Theatre Project (2011). She was recently the sound supervisor of the New York Musical Festival in 2017.
Kelsi received her BFA in Sound Design from the University of Southern California, under the supervision of Philip Allen, and her MFA in Sound Design from the University of California, Irvine, under the supervision of Michael Hooker and Vincent Olivieri. At UCI, Kelsi's research focus was on gender and women's roles in sound design.
When not in the theatre, you can find Kelsi at a music festival. She loves live music, having attended over 100 concerts and festivals. Kelsi also loves traveling, reading and baking.
Kelsi's latest work can be heard as the Assistant Sound Designer on the World Premiere Part of the Plan at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center and the Assistant Sound Designer (design by Josh Liebert) and on Network's Elf national tour in November 2017 (design by Shannon Slaton).
